Whether you’re spending some time travelling a foreign country or you’re simply too busy to put together an old fashioned slide show (or, in the more likely case, just don’t want to), there’s a fantastic way to keep your friends and family up to date with your adventures and travels that is both easy and free: file sharing.

File sharing is an excellent way to ensure that your friends and family know what you’re up to – and a great way to brighten up somebody’s day. Whether you’re sending an album of photos pertaining to your latest adventure exploring a new country or a short video sending greetings to a loved one, you can be sure that there’s nothing quite like receiving a new file from someone you care about.

Of course, sharing files isn’t just about videos and photos. You can send documents too, including that recipe you discovered on your travels that you know your dad would love to try, or the newsletter for the local sports team you scanned in. What’s more, you can send your travel diary file so your loved ones can keep up with your adventures in more detail, as well as just about anything else you can think of.

File sharing makes a lot of sense when it comes to keeping up, especially when it’s difficult to get in touch with friends and family thanks to time zone differences. If you’re travelling Australia, for example, a lot of the time when you’re up and about your friends and family back in Canada will be tucked up in bed, and vice versa. This isn’t exactly conducive with regard to staying informed of one another’s lives very well, so what better way to do it instead than through file sharing? It can be done at any time of day or night and doesn’t require both parties to be online at the same time.

And, of course, that’s before you even think about the power of an unexpected gesture such as sending a photo or video to somebody who really cares about you. The ability to bring a smile to someone’s day simply by sending them a picture is what file sharing is really about. So whoever you’re thinking about sending a file to, whether it’s your parents, brothers and sisters or even your tech-savvy grandparents, you can be sure that the power to make their day is in your hand – all at the touch of a button.
