A trip to Disneyland is many children's dream, but you may not be aware of just how much the resort caters to parents too, as you grudgingly accept to make your kids' dreams come true. Disneyland Paris is an excellent family resort that offers plenty of activities for visitors of all ages, even if you aren't drawn to the rides themselves.

Despite being less well-known than its American counterparts, Disneyland Paris is far from a second-rate imitation. In fact, the resort covers an extensive area just outside of Paris, incorporating Walt Disney Studios Park and Disneyland Park where most of the rides can be found, in addition to the shopping, eating and entertainment complex Disney Village, Golf Disneyland and no less than seven themed hotels - meaning you won't have to find accommodation outside the park. Many visitors are surprised to discover that Disneyland Paris is around one-fifth the size of the French capital itself.

Disneyland aims to offer more than just thrills and spills, which is why relaxation and wellbeing are such important facets of the visitor experience. Whether you enjoy hitting a few rounds of golf at the nine- and 18-hole courses or unwinding with a massage, it's likely you'll get just as much out of your visit as your kids.

You'll even be able to order room service, if you don't have time to fit in all your meals during the day, due to trying to pack in as many activities as possible. In addition to the parks themselves, even your hotel could feature a number of activities, depending on your interests - from tennis courts and swimming pools helping you keep in shape to pony rides.

It's no wonder Disneyland Paris is one of France's top family holiday destinations, and easily reached from the city itself after taking flights or rail journeys into Paris. If you're thinking of staying at the park, you'll find a number of deals available, depending on the length of your stay - the most popular being for two nights, making sure you have enough time to sample the best of the resort.

Don't miss the chance to explore Paris itself during your visit however, which remains one of the world's top tourist destinations for a reason. From the extensive art collections of the Louvre to the iconic Eiffel Tower, Paris has something for everyone, and could be a welcome change of pace after spending time in the Disneyland resort.
