As the winter months draw ever closer, it's easy to become a little less cheerier - no matter how much festive cheer is being thrown in our faces. The days are dark, cold and generally largely on the glum side - and there's probably nothing you want more than a holiday to somewhere that isn't freezing and miserable.
Unfortunately, such holidays aren't the cheapest, but that doesn't mean you can't have an amazing getaway closer to home. European holidays - such as short trips to Paris - can do a lot for your holiday morale, especially if you're a fan of food that happens to be heading to the French capital.
What comes to mind when we think of France? Well, aside from the Eiffel Tower and, probably, a couple of caricature-style stereotypes, the chances are that a whole world of fabulous food also springs into your thoughts - and it certainly has a reason to. Paris is hailed as one of the foodie capitals of the world and its abundance of Michelin-star restaurants certainly goes a long way towards explaining why. All across the city are restaurants promising the very finest in French and international cuisine, with many of the world's top chefs congregating in the city to bring you the very heights of a dazzling world of flavour. There are many of these wonderful gourmet restaurants, some of which include the wonderfully decorated Agapé, the two Michelin-star awarded Restaurant Lassere, Helene Darroze, which has an astonishing three Michelin stars under its belt, the gorgeously ambient L'Ambroisie, the wonderful Haute cuisine of L'Espadon at the Hotel Ritz and Les Ambassadeurs, one of the ultimate locations for luxury and elegance as you dine.
