Nowadays there are so many reasonably priced cars available, making it difficult to find a good deal. This list of super-cheap cars should make any future purchases easier. Cheap wheels can be good deals!

Firstly, there’s the Mitsubishi Lancer DE. The base-model Lancer DE comes with power windows, locks and mirrors, auto-off headlights, electronic stability control, and seven airbags, including a driver's knee airbag, an important safety feature. The Lancer is also attractive and pleasant to drive.

Then there’s the Nissan Sentra 2.0. The cheapest Sentra punches above its weight, with air conditioning, power windows, mirrors and locks, a CD player and a 6-speed manual transmission as standard; antilock brakes and electronic stability control are also included. Automatic cars come with a continuously-variable transmission that maximises power and fuel economy. The Sentra is a car that offers lots of space and equipment for its price.

The Ford Fiesta is a popular choice because it is considered cute, modern, and fun to drive. It comes with a long list of standard safety equipment, including electronic stability control and a driver's knee airbag, and has excellent crash-test scores. The Fiesta's low price and outstanding fuel economy, especially when equipped with an automatic transmission, make it one of the most popular low to mid-priced cars.

The Kia Forte is a similarly cheap, but good car. Many people like the Forte's style and space, but it is also safe; with six airbags, antilock brakes and electronic stability control all standard. Good visibility, simple controls and clearly-marked instruments make it a great buy for inexperienced drivers.

The new Hyundai Elantra GLS looks expensive but the base model is only slightly more than the cheapest old-shape Elantra. Under the Elantra's cutting-edge styling you will find a 1.8 litre, 148 horsepower engine, roomy interior and spacious boot. Standard equipment includes power windows, mirrors and locks, CD player, antilock brakes and electronic stability control. Air conditioning is only available as an extra-cost option.

The Honda Fit may be a little more expensive than other small cars, but you get a lot for your money; including power windows, mirrors and locks, air conditioning, CD player, and antilock brakes. The Fit's real value is its roomy interior, with a comfortable back seat and a huge cargo bay. Fuel efficiency is excellent, as are resale values.

Despite a modest price increase and its third name change in as many years, the Hyundai Accent GL hatchback is once again a superb cost-effective car. It comes with power steering and an eager 110 horsepower engine.

The above mentioned cars are all worthwhile options to consider if you are looking for a cost-effective car. Keep their names in the back of your mind, however be aware that you’ll always have to pay the same amount of money for the upkeep of them as you would any other car, necessary repairs like a change of tyres and windscreen replacement will still be a necessity with these cars.
