Flash games are an interesting and entertaining way to pass a few hours when you’re surfing the internet. Driving games in particular, are good fun to kill some time, but which ones are the best? Here is a list of three of the more popular ones available online.
Firstly, there’s Extreme Rally. This is a driving game based on standard, if prettified, road cars and the object is of course to win the race over a twisting circuit. However, you also amass performance points for lap times which translate into virtual cash that you can spend on things to give you an edge. The game is simple to learn and intuitive, using just the arrow keys plus P and N, but it holds your interest with six levels to progress through, and you can use the cash you have accumulated to buy an upgraded car or something called a nitro boost for extra oomph in the race.
There’s also Highway Justice. In this game you have the superfast cop car, on the side of the good guys, and you speed along a four lane highway, constantly changing lanes, accelerating and decelerating to dodge all the traffic. You have to be on the lookout for your four target cars, the bad guys presumably, marked with a flashing red circle, which you sneak behind or swerve at sideways and crash into them to run them off the road - on second thoughts maybe not the ideal form of policing! If you crash into other cars, your next target car gets further away, making you chase after it over a longer distance so that you have to trade off speed against accident risk and if you eventually run out of "health points" the game is over. There are different levels and the higher levels include more traffic to dodge and faster moving machines. There are few options; the cars don’t reverse, but you can stop, go forward and change lanes, using the arrow keys and there is no restart option once you are in a game.
