November marks the start of the skiing calendar in many areas of the world. The month sees the arrival of the first snows that cover the mountains to form the challenging (and not so challenging) slopes that attract people from all over the world.

Zermatt in Switzerland is so resplendent with snow that you could visit it earlier than November if you wanted to. It is worth considering if you want more than just skiing too. Most resorts have different things you can see and do nearby, but Zermatt is arguably the best of the lot.
